After Onions, It Is Tomatoes To Become Costlier
Update: 2019-10-03 12:47 IST
After the rise in onion prices in last week, tomatoes have become costlier as the price has jumped to RS 50 from yesterday. Due to heavy rains, the tomato crops were destroyed. Traders are importing tomatoes from Maharashtra, Karnataka and AP.
A loaded tomato truck is costed around 10 thousand. However, prices are expected to come down as the rains are coming down. On the other hand, farmers are worried about the quality of vegetables and selling them at lower prices.
Vegetable quality has been affected by the rains. Hence prices are high for the quality ones. Prices are expected to decrease if the rains stop.
