AKNU holds 10-km running competitions in Rajamahendravaram

ADK Nannaya University Vice-chancellor Prof Suresh Varma flagging off the 10-km inter collegiate cross country running competitions at Rajanagaram on Tuesday

Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) conducted a 10-km inter-collegiate cross country men and women running race from Rajanagaram to Kanavaram here on Tuesday morning.

As many as 56 boys and 34 girl students participated in the competitions. The students selected in this competitions will be sent to national level competitions scheduled be held at Mangalore University in Karnataka for boys and at Andhra University for girl students shortly.

In boys category, first six places occupied by S Jaganmohan Rao, B Mohan Rao, K Murali, RK Charan, MVV Satyanarayana, K Sudhakar and M Satya Janaki and in girls category, first six places won by G Rajya Lakshmi, K Bhavani, T Umadevi, S Deepika, B Rajya Lakshhmi, and P Rupa Sri.

Inaugurating the competitions at Rajanagaram, Vice-chancellor Prof P Suresh Varma said that the University students participated in district, zonal, state and national level competitions in various sports and games and proved their mettle. He advised the participants in the cross country running race to come with flying colors at national level competitions also.

The university is encouraging the students in various sports and games and also directed all college managements also to encourage students for playing games and sports. Sports Board director KV Subba Rao and others were present.
