All eligible can apply for house sites at village secretariats: Kodali Nani
Gudlavalleru (Krishna district): Distributing house sites to the beneficiaries at Gudlavalleru on Saturday, Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) said that the dream of poor women in the State to own houses was made true by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Along with Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balasouri, the Minister laid foundation stone for four houses after distributing the house sites to the beneficiaries.
The Minister recalled that though the Chief Minister promised during the Padayatra to provide 25 lakh house sites, now 31 lakh house sites are being distributed. "The government would build houses for all the beneficiaries at a cost of Rs 1.8 lakh by supplying iron, cement, sand, doors and windows."
He said that the eligible beneficiaries could once again apply for house sites at the village secretariat and they would be provided with house sites in 90 days after verifying their eligibility. The houses would be registered in the name of beneficiary to provide permanent right on the property, he said.
According to him, 30 layouts were formed in Gudlavalleru mandal to provide house sites to 2, 370 beneficiaries. "If there are eligible beneficiaries, 400 more house sites would be distributed in the mandal." The Minister said that all the eligible would be given pensions.
MP Balasouri said that this was the first time in the history of the State to provide house sites to people in such large numbers which and it was made possible due to a dynamic Chief Minister. He said that masons, carpenters, and labour would get work and steel and cement traders would get business with the construction of houses.
The MP said that irrigation facility would be provided this year for two crops as there was abundant water in Pulichintala and Nagarjuna Sagar reservoirs. RDO Srinu Kumar, tahsildar Anjaneyulu, Housing PD, people's representatives Dukkipati Sasibhushan, Ramprasad, Paleti Chanti, AMC chairman Alluri Sirisha, KDC Bank director Padamati Sujata, former MPP Koganti Dhanunjaya and a large number of beneficiaries participated in the meeting.
