All eligible farmers will be covered under YSR Rythu Bharosa: Minister

Kakinada: Agriculture Minister KurasalaKannababuon Saturday said that 44 lakh farmers were covered under YSR Rythu Bharosa programme so far. All eligible farmers would be covered under the scheme, he said.

Kannababuwas reviewing the implementation of various schemes at Kakinada Rural MPDO office with the officers of various departments. The Minister said each eligible farmer would get Rs 67, 500 in five years as against promised Rs 50,000 earlier. He further said that four to five lakh families would be covered under thescheme as last date was extended up for tenant farmers to apply for the benefit.

With regard to supply of quality fertilisers and pesticides.he said testing labswere established at constituency level to achieve it. Kannababu said the fishermen would be given smart cards to enable them tosecure subsidised diesel through dedicated outlets. Compensation to fishermen families during ban period is increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000.

The government had taken all measures to ensure supply of adequate quantities of sand. In East Godavari district alone 20, 000 cubic meters of sand was being provided through 23 reaches. He stressed the need foraddressing problems being faced by the people through Spandana programme.
