All set for Covid vaccination dry run in Krishna district
Vijayawada: The district administration has made necessary arrangements for the Covid vaccine dry run (dummy vaccination) at five centres for two days on Monday and Tuesday. Dry run will be held at the Old Government General Hospital, Primary Health Centre, Uppuluru, Purna Heart centre, Surya Raopet, Vijayawada, Krishnaveni degree college, Tadigadapa and Prakash Nagar PHC, Vijayawada. Three rooms were arranged at these dry run vaccination centres each for registration of names, vaccination and the third room for the observation.
Since the Covid-19 vaccination is doing first time, the medical and health department authorities are taking all measures to ensure to follow the guidelines given by the Union government. Five vaccination officials appointed for each vaccination centre and 25 member medical and department staff drafted for the special duty.
Krishna district collector Md Imtiaz visited the Old Government General Hospital on Sunday and inspected the arrangements. He told the media that necessary training was given to the medical and health department staff and the officials for the two-day dry run in the district.
Interestingly, no vaccination will be held at these centres and it will be trial run only, said the collector Imtiaz. The details of the staff who are participating the duty has been uploaded in the Cowin app and dummy vaccine boxes will arrive Vijayawada from Machilipatnam on Monday morning, the collector added.
The staff drafted for the dry run duty completed preparations at the five centres. The district administration will shoot the entire process of vaccination and will send to the higher authorities. Andhra Pradesh is one of the four states chosen for the dry run. Other states are Gujarat, Punjab and Assam. Krishna district has been selected for its impressive record in conducting Covid tests at more than dozen locations during the pandemic period.
