Eluru: Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani has directed the officials concerned to provide a chance to farmers to sell their produce in Rytu Bazaars. He made a surprise visit of Rythu Bazaar at Fattebada here on Saturday and surprised to find only a few farmers in the Bazaar while others were doing brisk business.

He expressed concern that farmers were not being given a chance to sell their produce as the very purpose of the Rythu Bazaars is to create a platform for the farmers to market their yield.

He noticed the estate officer was not attending to his duties on time and pointed out various lapses on the cleanliness in the market. He commented that fish market is far cleaner than the Rytu Bazaar. He objected to the traders selling vegetables by spreading on the floor instead of using raised platforms.

The angry minister grilled the officials whether they are playing with the health of the people. Joint Collector M Venugopal Reddy, Municipal Commissioner D Chandrasekhar and others accompanied the minister.
