Amaravati: The ministers and other YSRCP leaders used abusive language against the Chair and TDP MLCs in the Legislative Council and threatened to attack the opposition leaders, alleged TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu.

In a press conference here on Thursday, Naidu criticised that the YSRCP government has been misusing the power and harassing the TDP leaders both in and outside the legislature.

He said as part of forcing opposition leaders to join the ruling party the government had raised a royalty of Rs 2,000 crore on an industry owned by MLA in Prakasam district and forced him to join the YSRCP.

Likewise, another MLA Gottipati Ravikumar was charged with a royalty of Rs 300 on his granite industry and was being pressurised to join YSRCP. He said that the Legislature Secretary violated the rules when the APCRDA Repeal Bill and Decentralisation Bill were sent to the Select Committee by the Council, when they were first introduced in the House.

The government called the Assembly for the budget session, but they introduced CRDA Repeal Bill, he added. At the same time, the government did not allow discussion on the budget documents in Assembly.

When it comes to the Council, the government did not introduce the budget and Appropriations Bill. Once the bills were sent to the Select Committee, . many bills passed in Lok Sabha were lapsed in Rajya Sabha, he pointed out.

"We have told them to pass the Appropriations Bill repeatedly. Even the Deputy Chairman suggested to them to move the Appropriations Bill. But the government insisted and moved only bills related to CRDA and decentralisation, that too violating the rules and procedures," the TDP chief said.

"Why did the ministers come to the Council? When there is a voting in the Council, the non- members should not enter the House. The ministers came into the Council and threatened the TDP leaders and the Chair," he alleged.

Only because of the failure and malafide intention of the ministers, the Appropriations Bill was not introduced in the Council, he added.

Earlier, Naidu met Governor Biswa Bhusan Harinchandan and submitted a memorandum on the alleged harassment and false cases on party leaders by the YSRCP government.
