YS Jagan directs officials to immediately pay ex gratia to kin of deceased in the styrene gas leak incident

Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday instructed the officials to immediately pay the ex gratia to the kin of the deceased in the styrene gas leak incident in Visakhapatnam.

During a review meeting, Jagan sought details from the officials on the treatment being extended to those hospitalised and the steps being taken to plug and neutralise the gas levels and making it safe for the surrounding areas.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that the styrene content has reached safe levels in the atmosphere and works were being monitored by experts.

The Chief Minister said the villagers should be allowed to return only after implementation of proper sanitation and safety measures. He also ordered to compensate others who were affected.
