Amaravati: CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy warns Ministers on local polls outcome
Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reported to have warned the ministers that if the party loses in the local body elections in their respective districts, they will have to resign from their ministerial posts.
At the same time, he also informed the ministers that he will make the MLAs accountable for their respective Assembly constituencies. If the MLAs show poor performance in these local elections, then there will be no chance of getting the MLA ticket again in the party.
After completing the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday at Secretariat, the Chief Minister conducted a strategy meeting with his colleagues for more than an hour. In the meeting, he warned the party leaders and guided them on the plan of action to be implemented by the party during the polls. The ministers were asked to coordinate with the MLAs to sort out any internal disputes that exist.
At the same time, Jagan Mohan Reddy gave many powers to the respective MLAs in selecting the candidates for local body elections, including sarpanches, MPTCs, ZPTCs and the candidates in municipalities and corporations. All the elections will be completed by March 27, tentatively.
While discussing the distribution of the house sites to the poor, the Chief Minister
observed that it will be continued even if the model code of conduct will be in force since the scheme was an ongoing scheme.
