Amaravati: Government chief whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy blamed TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu that later threatened the police and accused them of booking cases against the former MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar and issuing notices to him.

Speaking at YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Wednesday, Srikanth Reddy said people were laughing at the antics being played by Naidu. He said Naidu has not lost his high-handed behavior even after losing power. He said the YSRCP government was neutral in its governance and would not hesitate to take action against those committing an offence whether it be from the ruling party or the opposition party.

Reddy said Naidu had weakened the police force in the state and made it ineffective and was now making allegations against the police for being straight-forward. He said Naidu had made the police keep quiet on the atrocities committed by the TDP leaders.

The YSRCP leader condemned TDP Politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu for supporting Chintamaneni. He said Chintamaneni had committed atrocities against the SCs and who has a rowdy-sheet against him. He said it was no wonder that Yanamala lost the elections from Tuni constituency. He said it is a surprise Yanamala functioned as a finance minister.

Reddy said Naidu was speaking against the government out of frustration of losing power. "Naidu was maintaining double standards in opposing the government move to introduce Enlish medium at the primary school level. He said in the six months since the YSRCP came to power, the Chief Minister was implementing remarkable programmes for the poor."
