Amaravati: YS Jagan government puts capital shifting on hold
Amaravati: The YSRCP government has decided to defer the shifting of executive capital to Visakhapatnam for the present.
According to Minister for Panchayat Raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, the decision has been taken in view of the present pandemic situation in the state. The number of cases have been on the increase and experts say that the surge could be much more high during July and August. The focus of the government at present is on to contain the spread of the virus.
The decision with regard to the shifting of the capital to Visakhapatnam will be taken at an appropriate time. The decision of the government to have executive capital at Visakhapatnam, judicial capital at Kurnool and legislative capital at Amravati was mentioned in the Governor's address to the joint session of the Legislative Assembly and Council recently.
