Amaravati: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu launched a blistering attack on YSRCP government stating that it was a painful year when hundreds of TDP activists were implicated in false cases and put in jail for no fault of theirs. He levelled serious allegations against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and his governance while inaugurating the two-day Mahanadu on Wednesday.

Around 14,000 party members are directly participating through Zoom app and another 25,000 on TDP social media platforms in this virtual meeting. The annual meet is being organised digitally in view of Covid lockdown. The TDP chief said that Jagan's one year rule adversely affected the state politically, socially and financially pushing the economy into an irrecoverable, bankrupt situation.

He alleged that the YSRCP government targeted TDP cadres and their businesses physically and financially to demoralise the party.

"Jagan government has not spent a single paise and not completed a single irrigation project in the past one year even as AP's lifeline project of Polavaram was stalled. Now it got stuck in legal hurdles. On the other hand, TDP always worked in a constructive manner and completed 70 per cent works of Polavaram and also initiated steps for linking of the Krishna and the Godavari rivers to supply waters to the remote corners in Rayalaseema region as well," he said.

Naidu said Jagan's retrograde policies led to flight of investments and industries from AP. Whereas, TDP pursued a pro-industry policy which helped to usher in Kia Motors, Hero Motors, Asian Paints and so on.

He stressed the need for both AP and Telangana to sort out their differences over Krishna water sharing. "By stopping thousands crore worth works of Amaravati capital city, Jagan caused serious harm to farmers who sacrificed their lands. While the farmers are still staging protests braving hot summer and coronavirus lockdown, the Chief Minister is deriving sadistic pleasure," he criticised.
