NHRC asks for ATR on doctors recruitment

Amaravati: National Human Rights Commission called for the action taken report from the Chief Secretary following the complaint that the Andhra Pradesh government did not take any action to appoint the assistant professors though the AP Public Service Commission (APPSC) conducted the examination to fill the 1100 posts of assistant professors in various medical colleges throughout the State wayback in 2018.

The APPSC after conducting the examination announced the results in August 2018. However, after the elections were conducted in 2019, the YSR Congress formed the government headed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The candidates, who were qualified in the APPSC examination, have been waiting for their postings and have been meeting the officials in the Andhra Pradesh government in vain for the last three years.

Though the 1100 assistant professor posts are lying vacant in the 14 medical colleges, the qualified and eligible candidates were not appointed in the posts.

Assistant registrar of NHRC KK Shrivastava forwarded the complaint to the Chief Secretary seeking action taken report in four weeks.
