Amaravati: Prepared to fight Covid-19: CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
Amaravati: The state government has decided to intensify efforts to monitor and prevent coronavirus cases in the sate. The Union government also issued certain protocols to be followed in effectively tackling the Covid-19, on Tuesday, said KS Jawahar Reddy, special chief secretary, medical and health.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review meeting on the spread of Covid-19 at the Secretariat, where he directed the entire administration to cooperate with the health department in preventing the spread of the virus.
After the review meeting, Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Nani), Deputy Chief Minister (health, medical and family welfare) said the government had set up isolation wards, besides taking up mass awareness programme and training the staff.
"Currently, eight hospitals are equipped with isolation wards and as per the Central government's instructions, we have established isolation rooms in two hospitals and four more are going to be added. We are well equipped to deal with the cases and as part of the precautionary measures, awareness programmes at the district level are going to be conducted," he told the media.
A state contingent would attend the national training programme to be held in New Delhi on March 6 on handling the cases and on return, a state-level workshop would be held on March 9, he said.
The awareness programme would be carried out in a big way with pamphlets on 'do's and don'ts' would be widely distributed and displayed at village secretariats which focus on hygiene and cleanliness.
The minister said as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, they had set up a dedicated call centre for the public, which is further rooted to control rooms at the district level to alert the officials.
