Amaravati: Relaxation given in Green Zones to open shops

Amaravati: Reviewing the lockdown scenario in the State, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy provided relaxations based on the guidelines issued by the Central government to operate the shops in the permitted areas between 10 am and 7 pm.

Permission will be given to run the shops in Green Zone areas. However, the lockdown rules will continue in the Red Zones. The Chief Minister laid emphasis on the health protocol to be followed post lockdown to ensure public safety especially during interstate transportation.

Jagan instructed the officials to focus on the control measures to be taken at 11 check-posts at entry points in the State and develop standard operational guidelines for implementation.

Briefing on the future course of action, officials said that all those entering the State will be constantly monitored and tracked through an App until they reach their destination.

In addition to this, their details will be shared with local health workers and village volunteers to monitor their health conditions. Also, all those passengers will be undergoing tests and put under home isolation for a certain period.

On the other hand, the total cases increased to 1980 on Sunday with 50 new positive cases reported in the State. With one death reported on Sunday, the death toll has risen to 45.

The officials have conducted tests to 8,666 samples and 50 of those tested positive. A total number of 925 persons were discharged from the hospitals, Kurnool district tops with 566 cases followed by Guntur with 382 cases.

Krishna district has 339 cases. Chittoor, Anantapur and Nellore districts have crossed 100 mark with 107, 112 and 101 cases. Vizianagaram district has the least cases with only 4 followed by Srikakulam with five cases.
