Amaravati: Continuing the commitment to fill all the vacancies in various government departments, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to strictly follow the recruitment calendar.

He held a review meeting with officials concerned at his camp office at Tadepalli in Guntur district on Friday. The Chief Minister asked them to identify posts in various departments that needed to be filled on a priority basis. In particular, he asked the Departments of Medical and Health, Education, Police and Revenue to identify the posts that were to be filled so that services to citizens were not affected.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to prioritise filling posts as per the requirement in Medical and Health Department and stick to the calendar.

He directed the officials to fill all the vacancies in the hospitals as their functioning cannot be effective without adequate staff.

Funds being allocated for the upkeep of the hospitals under Nadu-Nedu programme can be utilised for the recruitment of doctors, nurses, lab technicians and pharmacists, he said.

Similiarly, the funds being allocated to schools as part of Nadu-Nedu programme can be utilised for the recruitment of teachers and other staff. Only then the Amma Vodi programme and Midday Meal scheme can be successful in the long run.

Referring to the weekly offs given to cops, the Chief Minister said that it should not lead to a decrease in their efficiency.

Importance should also be given to filling up the posts in the Revenue Department and providing adequate equipment to the survey staff. The officials said that a plan of action would be prepared for filling up the posts in all departments in the next three weeks.

The officials said they would meet the Chief Minister again on February 21 and discuss about the action taken to fill vacant posts. Minister Kodali Nani, Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney and DGP Gautham Sawang were among those present.
