Amaravati: TDP Demands apology from ruling party
Amaravati: Refuting the allegations of YSRCP leaders on TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in the wake of Income Tax (I-T) raids on his personal secretary P Srinivas along with others related to three infrastructure companies based in AP and Telangana, TDP leaders alleged that it was nothing but a naked attempt to defame the party leadership.
Referring to the Panchanama report by I-T department on the raids on Srinivas, TDP senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu warned of legal action against the YSRCP leaders for spreading canards and calumny against TDP.
In a statement here on Sunday, the former minister said that YSRCP had magnified the I-T raids stating that yielded Rs 2,000 crore in 26 shell companies, while the I-T officials found only Rs 2.6 lakh cash.
Demanding apology from the YSRCP for resorting to false and malicious propaganda against the TDP, he said otherwise criminal and civil action would be launched against those who resort to such campaign.
Former minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa in a tweet and in a press conference at Kakinada said that the Panchanama report of I-T officials exposed the false campaign of YSRCP. "Those who indulged in corruption would see corruption everywhere," he said.
TDP MLC Budhha Venkanna questioned YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy about his statement on I-T raids which completely contrasts with the Panchanama report.
Repalle MLA Anagani Satyaprasad said that the YSRCP leaders did not know the difference between I-T raids and searches and demanded apology from YSRCP leaders for making false allegations against TDP leaders. He said that people would teach a lesson to the YSRCP for its anti-people policies for the past nine months.
Party spokesperson Panchumarthi Anuradha questioned the illegal arrest of a party activist Vijaykumar Reddy for questioning the government on diversion of Rs 6,500 crore allotted to BCs and SCs.
She said that the TDP leaders would extend support to Vijaykumar Reddy. TDP BC women wing chairperson Anita also condemned the arrest of Vijaykumar Reddy. She said that the arrest indicates the highhandedness of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
