Amaravati: TDP spokesperson K Pattabhi Ram said rules violated in renewal of lease to Saraswathi Power
Amaravati: The TDP criticised YSRCP government for throwing rules and regulations to winds with regard to renewal of cancelled lease and new allocations for the Saraswati Power Industries during the last one year.
The TDP on Sunday pointed out that both Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife Bharathi were shareholders in this company, according to the election affidavit submitted by Jagan to the Election Commission of India in 2014.
Addressing a press conference here, TDP spokesperson K Pattabhi Ram said that in a very brazen manner, the government gave higher allocation of water and also extended the previous five-year allocation for a lifetime.
The TDP leader said that Jagan along with his wife Bharathi were partners in Saraswati Power.
Pattabhi further said that Saraswati Power was allotted limestone mines in Guntur district and senior IAS officer Sri Lakshmi made these allotments in her capacity as the officer concerned earlier.
However, the lease was later cancelled as the company failed to start the works as per the scheduled time-frame.
He said that Jagan's family once again began efforts for getting renewal for Saraswati Power from the Pollution Control Board.
In this process, they had misled even the PCB. For getting the renewal, the GOs were changed at their whims and fancies, the TDP alleged.
