Village secretariats exams from September 20

Amaravati: The state government will conduct the exam from September 20 and conclude the process within a week for the vacancies in the village/ward secretariats which was postponed due to Covid-19.

This was revealed during a review meeting held by municipal administration minister Botcha Satyanarayana and panchayat raj minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy at Panchayat Raj Minister's camp office at the Secretariat here on Wednesday.

The ministers directed the officials to ensure all the precautionary measures for Covid-19 and physical distancing should be maintained in the course of exams.

It is estimated that in all, 10,63,168 candidates would attend the exam. On the first day, 4.5 lakh candidates are expected to attend the exam.

At least 5,000 exam centres have been arranged for the purpose. The ministers directed the officials to focus on filling vacancies of animal husbandry assistant posts.

Panchayat Raj Principal Secretary Gopalkrishna Dwivedi, Commissioner Girija Shankar, Village and ward secretariats Commissioner Nave-en Kumar and other officials were present.
