Amazon launches first Sort Center in city

Vijayawada: Amazon.in has announced the launch of its first Sort Centre (SC) in Vijayawada. The new Sort Center with a processing area of 25,000 square feet will enable Amazon customers in the region to receive faster delivery of their orders, thus, saving time said Abinav Singh, director, Middle Mile Transportation, Amazon India here on Thursday.

With this expansion, Amazon.in has increased its processing capacity for sorting of customer packages from 1 million square feet in 2018 to 1.5 million square feet spread across 19 States in readiness for the upcoming festive season, thus creating opportunities for thousands of jobs across its sort centre network, said Abinav Singh.
