Amit Shah dials CM YS Jagan, discusses on extension of lockdown and COVID-19 measures

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reportedly telephoned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and discussed the issue of lockdown, along with measures to be taken to prevent coronavirus outbreaks. CM Jagan explained to Amit Shah about the state's actions to curb the spread of corona. On the other hand, with lockdown 4.0 due to end on Sunday, it has become interesting on what kind of decision would centre take. However, it has been rumoured that the centre is contemplating to extend the lockdown for another two weeks. The Center is receiving advice and suggestions from the states.

It is in this backdrop that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has telephoned CM Jagan. AP CM Jagan has given suggestions to the Center over lockdown relaxations in the past. On the other hand, in the wake of AP High Court's verdict against SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar's dismissal as state election commissioner, it has become the interesting point that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's call to CM Jagan.

The home minister spoke to all chief ministers and sought their views on extending the lockdown after May 31. During his talks with the chief ministers, Shah was briefed about the areas of concern and the sectors they want to open up further from June 1,

Meanwhile, Amit Shah is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi this evening on lockdown extension in the country. They will discuss the information revealed by the Chief Ministers of the states.
