An Alleged Pakistan Spy Agency ISI agent arrested in Srikakulam
The police have caught an alleged Pakistan spy agency ISI agent in Srikakulam district on Sunday night. Along with the suspect, three other associated with the accused are said to be in police custody. However, police denied they had terror links.
According to credible sources, the local police have held search operations after the intelligence sleuths gave a tip about the movement of the terror operative in the district. The local police have held checks for almost two hours on the NH-16 at Kanchili and captured the suspects who are travelling in a truck and shifted them to Kanchili police station.
The suspect identified as Sayed Ashraf from Chittoor district, and three others moving towards Srikakulam from Visakhapatnam.
However, the district Superintendent of Police (SP) RN Ammireddy said the arrested persons were not ISI agents, but were suspects in a criminal case. They said that the arrested were shifted to Vizag for interrogation.
