Anantapur: Officials ask people to stay at home
Anantapur: District Collector Gandham Chandrudu and Superintendent of Police Bhusarapu Sathya Yesu Babu have come on to the streets to strictly implement lockdown in the city on the second day on Tuesday and asked the general public to confine themselves to their homes. The government has directed the officials to act tougher to prevent unnecessary movement of people on the roads.
There is a demand from among the people that police should be posted at vegetable markets to prevent the traders from hiking the prices.
SP Yesu Babu and Collector Gandham Chandrudu have taken initiative for strict implementation of lockdown. Police are stopping the pillion riders and cars etc and questioning them.
The municipal commissioners in the district are giving notices to the shops which are not displaying information on corona.
DRDA sponsored units have started supplying masks to government officials and poorer sections.
The police and the district administration is conveying only one message ' stay at home' to the people for the control of the virus since there is no drug available to treat the disease. For prevention staying at home is the only solution, says Collector Chandrudu and SP Yesu Babu. They stated that people are trying to down play the seriousness of the virus for which the society will be forced to pay for it.
