Anantapur: Special police teams set up to monitor isolation wards
Anantapur: Superintendent of Police B Sathya Yesubabu has constituted special task force teams to prevent spread of Covid-19. The task force is to monitor the patients in isolation ward and to prevent their escape during the observation period. The teams will also intervene when patients are troubling the medical and health staff rendering services to the patients in the ward.
The police teams will be provided personal protection equipment, sanitisers and hydrochloride chemical sprays etc.
District medical and health personnel have provided training classes to police personnel and ministerial staff. A power point presentation was given on the Covid-19.
Meanwhile state Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney addressed all district collectors in a video conference and asked them to take effective steps to prevent spread of coronavirus. Special chief secretary Jawahar Reddy was also present.
Neelam said that those returning from foreign countries should be monitored and kept under observation.
She asked collectors to ensure that no social gatherings are organised unnecessarily. Cultural programmes in connection with Ugadi festival should not be permitted, she added.
