Anantapur: YS Jagan to lay foundation stone for three reservoirs in Rapthadu constituency
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is ready to fulfill yet another election promise given to Anantapur districts. The foundation stone will be laid for the construction of three reservoirs in the district on Wednesday. YS Jagan will participate in the event through a virtual approach from the camp office. A pylon has been set up at Venkatampally in Chennakothpalli Mandal. Muttala, Topudurthi and Devarakonda reservoirs will be constructed in Raptadu constituency. Plans are afoot to divert water from Handrineeva to Peruru Dam.
With this one lakh acres will be irrigated in Raptadu constituency through these reservoirs, which will benefit 35 villages in seven mandals. The Andhra Pradesh government is allocating Rs. 800 crore for a total of four reservoirs and the main canal. MLA Topudurthi Prakash Reddy said that Jagan will not go back if he makes p byromise. He said that the Chief Minister is a leader with a vision and kept his promise to irrigate one lakh acres to the people of Raptadu constituency.
The Anantapur district administration has made all the arrangements for the bhumi puja of three reservoirs at Venkatampalli village in ChennaKothapalli mandal. Arrangements for the auditorium, reservoir pylon, vehicle parking, dining counters and LED screens were completed on Tuesday. Collector Gandham Chandradu, Joint Collector Nishanth Kumar and RDO Madhusudan supervised the arrangements.
