Andhra government decides to dismantle check posts at AP-Telangana border from tomorrow

The government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given good news for those traveling from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh. The state has decided to lift the border checkposts between the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from tomorrow.

The decision was taken by the state government as part of the unlock 1.0. After nearly three months, the two states have given permission for moment of public between two Telugu states.

However, interstate bus services continued to stall. The center has allowed inter-state bus services from Monday, which has led to opportunities for bus services from other states.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney has written a letter to the governments of Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana regarding the interstate services. However, the state governments has not responded to the CS letter so far.

The Andhra Pradesh government said that it would lift check posts at AP and Telangana border. Against this backdrop, private vehicles from other states can get into Andhra Pradesh without any hurdles.

On the other hand, APSRTC is trying to extend the services in the state. It has been decided to reduce the seats as well as the bus services. The buses, which started running from the 21st of last month, have amassed Rs. 29.44 crore with 49 per cent occupancy.
