Andhra government decides to run APSRTC services to Karnataka from June 17

The Andhra Pradesh government has given the green signal to interstate bus services in the wake of the lockdown exemptions. As part of this, the government has decided to start bus service to Karnataka first from the 17th of this month. It is noted that as many as 168 services will be made available in the first phase of and the services likely to be increased to 500 depending on the congestion in four phases. The online reservations will begin tomorrow. The government has also made several suggestions.

The APSRTC has already written to Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Karnataka governments for permission of interstate services. But with the approval of the Karnataka government alone, the RTC has decided to run the services from 17th of this month. It is mandatory that the passengers need to wear Masks along with physical distancing in buses.

The APSRTC has also made it clear that sanitation would be done on buses. About 5 percent of those who come from other states are said to be undergoing tue Coronavirus tests. The APSRTC has also directed the authorities to take preventive measures in the bus stands.
