Andhra govt announces ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh to kin of deceased in Jaggayyapet accident

As many as 12 people were killed in a road accident near Vedadhri at Jagayyapet of Krishna district on Wednesday. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed officials to compensate the kin of deceased with Rs 5 lakh to the families.

Telangana people who lost their lives in the accident are advised to apply for the ex-gratia. Officials have been ordered to look after the families of the deceased in a humanitarian grounds as the accident occurred within the state territory. Meanwhile, the Telangana government has also announced 2 lakh exgratia for families of road accident victims.

Going by the details, a coal truck hit a tractor at Vedadhri in Jaggayyapet mandal in Krishna district on Wednesday afternoon. Nine people from Khammam district and three from AP died in the accident. More than 10 others suffered serious injuries. The accident occurred as the driver was driving the vehicle in the drunken state. All of them were on their way to Vedadhri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Krishna districts to offer prayers.
