Andhra Pradesh government has disbursed the pension

The Andhra Pradesh government has disbursed the pension to 1,15,269 new pensioners were across the state on Wednesday with which the total pension beneficiaries in the state has reached to 59.03 lakh. The state government has released Rs 1,442.21 crore for this purpose while 2.68 lakh village and ward volunteers across the state went to the beneficiaries' houses on Wednesday morning and handed over the pension. Meanwhile, the SERP CEO Rajababu said that 5,165 new chronic patients and 1,10,104 elderly, widows and widows will receive pension money from next month.

Despite the coronavirus outbreak, money distribution continues to take place in the process of taking photos of the beneficiary with a specially designed mobile app instead of biometric policy. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered the distribution of dues for those who have not received a pension for the past three months amid lockdown and other reasons, officials said.

The 4,010 beneficiaries who are still living in their hometowns have applied for portable remittances. On the other hand, 26,034 beneficiaries were informed by volunteers in the area that their pension money would be temporarily transferred and distributed to the residents where they now reside.

"We will distribute 2.11 lakh new pensions in two instalments in June. The first instalment will be distributed to 1.15 lakh people on July 1 and the remaining 96,000 will be distributed from August 1," Serp CEO Rajababu said. The government has released the funds in advance of its distribution on July 1. As a result, the process of granting funds from the Department of Finance for the 96,000 pensions in the second phase has not been completed. Due to this reason, the money distribution will begin from August onwards.
