Andhra govt signs MoU with GMR for construction of Bhogapuram international airport
Another international airport in Andhra Pradesh is lined up to be constructed in coming days. In this backdrop, GMR has entered into an agreement with the state government for the construction of the Bhogapuram Airport in Vizianagaram district. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy signed a memorandum of agreement on behalf of the state government and representatives of the GMR at the CM camp office. State Industries Department Special Chief Secretary Karikalavalavan and GMR Chairman GBS Raju signed the agreement. State Industries Minister Gautam Reddy, APIIC Chairman RK Roja and other officials were present at the meeting.
GMR representatives told Chief Minister YS Jagan that the Bhogapuram Airport will be built in a momentous manner. Representatives of GMR said they are utilizing the services of leading international companies for this purpose. They said they feel fortunate to construct an airport in their area of origin.
CM Jagan said that the north Coastal Andhra region has good connectivity with Bhogapuram Airport. "Roads will be constructed from the airport to the city of Vishakhapatnam as fast, as possible," the CM said. It has been made clear that these tasks will be completed as soon as possible. Chief Minister Jagan said that all measures are being taken to establish a metro to connect Bhogapuram Airport to Visakhapatnam.
