Andhra High Court directs authorities to take action against lockdown violators

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the police to file the cases against all those who violate the lockdown restrictions and stipulations in the state. The High Court commented that the central and state governments are imposing lockdown under the Disaster Management Act to contain the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The High Court on Thursday held hearings on complaints filed over the violations of the lockdown rules. As many as a total of eight separate petitions were filed in the High Court alleging that seven MLAs, along with a YSRCP minister, were involved in violations during the lockdown period.

Hearing these petitions on Thursday, the Andhra Pradesh high court has ordered to register cases against anyone who violated the lockdown. The High Court has instructed the petitioners to file a complaint with Disaster Management against those who have committed lockdown violations and asked the police to take action against them. Kishore filed a petition in the High Court against all eight MLAs in violation of the lockdown rules.
