5 bodies of youth fished out from Penna river

Kadapa: A pall of gloom descended in Sidhavatam as the family members of deceased were eagerly waiting for bodies of those persons, who went missing in Penna river on Thursday. The same situation prevailing in Korlagunta area in Tirupati town where the deceased were residing. Special party police teams, fire officials and expert swimmers, who participated in the search operations able to retrieve 5 bodies against 7 in Penna river so far.

Speaking to The Hans India, ASP Devi Prasad (operations), who was personally monitoring the situation, said the bodies of Satish, Yasvanth, Shanmugam, Rajesh and Somasekhar were traced so far and searching operations continued to recover remaining bodies of Tarun and Jagadesh.

In a tweet, former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep shock over the incident and expressed deep felt condolences to bereaved families.It may be recalled that 7 persons residents of Korlagunta area of Tirupati town came to participate in the rituals of one Chandrasekhar of Diguvapeta of Sidhavatam, who died on December 17 last year. After participating in the function, the youth went to the swimming in Penna river on Thursday.
