Andhra Pradesh: APSRTC to run 1500 special services for upcoming Sankranti festival
The APSRTC has took a key decision over the bus services to be run for Sankranti festival. It has decided to run 1,500 special services for the upcoming festive season. The RTC, which has run 2,200 services from the last two years, will now reduce the number this time due to coronavirus effect. Deciding to run the services according to the demand of the passengers, MD Krishna Babu had a meeting with the RTC officials of all the districts. There was a discussion on how many services to be run for the Sankranthi festival.
It has been decided to run more services to Hyderabad. While the reservations are already full for the East and West Godavari districts, the demand for these districts is high every year. Hence, more special buses will run to twin Godavari districts. During the festive return journey, buses are being prepared to run without any inconvenience to the passengers.
To reduce congestion at MGBS in Hyderabad, APSRTC officials will make arrangements for bus parking without any hassle. Officials said that the RTC has not bothered to buy space in the past for bus parking at BHEL. Regular and festival special buses bound for Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur, Chittoor, Nellore, Ongole and Machar are expected to depart from the Gauliguda city bus terminal outside MGBS.
While special buses to Vijayawada, Guntur, East Godavari, West Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam will run from ECIL, BHEL, KPHB and LB Nagar in Hyderabad. On the other hand, special services will be run to Chennai and Bangalore.
