Andhra Pradesh: Arrangements for the distribution of the Covid vaccine on full swing

Arrangements for the covid vaccination process in Andhra Pradesh are in full swing. The state medical health department has drawn up a plan for the vaccination process and is making special arrangements for the transportation and storage of the vaccine. A state-level vaccine storage point has been set up in Gannavaram, the health ministry said. Officials said the storage point had the capacity to store 15 lakh doses.

The Gannavaram centre will supply the vaccine to four regional centers and districts and set up regional vaccine storage points in Kurnool, Kadapa, Guntur and Visakhapatnam, the health ministry said. Collector Imtiaz on Sunday inspected the arrangements at the state level vaccine storage point in Gannavaram. 19 vehicles have been set up to transport the vaccine to all the districts.

Arrangements were made to store the vaccine between 2 - 8 degrees in each vehicle. The AP Medical Health Department told the centre that 36,381 vaccine carriers, 3,108 cold boxes and 1,50,700 ice packs were needed for the safety of vaccines.
