BIE sought suggestions to take decision on reopening of schools and syllabus particulars

Vijayawada: Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), Andhra Pradesh has sought suggestions from the parents, teachers, students and many educationists along with philanthropists regarding the reopening of schools and reduction in syllabus in the state schools. It also asked for comments on the number of working days and the teaching methods to be followed by the state colleges.

As per the Board, all the stakeholders would be informing out of their views by the end of July month. The Board would come up with a decision after analyzing all the suggestions.

The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh has also released a statement on this. They said, "Feedback is being collected from all the stakeholders for finalisation of the reopening of Junior Colleges, Reduction of Syllabus, Reduction of Working days and Method of teaching etc. Parents, Teachers of Intermediate Education, Students and other philanthropists are requested to share their feedback in Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh Website bie.ap.gov.in." The last date of submission of feedback is July 31 2020.

The Ministry of Education had recently asked the UTs for parents feedback on the issue of classes. A circular sent by the department of school education and literacy, ministry of human resource development had asked for parents suggestions regarding the issue.

Recently CBSE Board reduced its syllabus by 30 per cent as the schools have been closed since March 2020 due to the pandemic outbreak. Due to online classes being conducted since then it would not be possible to cover the syllabus as it used to be. Therefore the Boards decided to reduce it. Now the Andhra Pradesh Board would be making a decision on the same after analysing the suggestions received.
