Andhra Pradesh cabinet to meet today, likely to take crucial decisons
The Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting chaired by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled at 11 am on Thursday. In the wake of Coronavirus, arrangements were made in the video conference hall at CM camp office by maintaining physical distance. The cabinet is likely to discuss on several bills in addition to holding of the assembly budget sessions. The cabinet would give a nod for the YSR Cheyutha scheme that aims to provide financial assistance to BC, SC, ST and minority women aged 45 to 60.
The Andhra cabinet, which is being held after a long time amid Coronavirus outbreak is likely to approve setting up of Andhra Pradesh State Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for effecient collection of GST. Also, the cabinet is expected to approve draft amendments to the GST Act, Higher Education Regulation and Supervisory Commission Acts respectively.
The Cabinet is expected to approve the Special Enforcement Bureau to curb illicit liquor and sand trafficking and woukd grant 40 Assistant Administrative Officer posts in the Police Department to this extent. The Pollution Prevention and Environmental Protection Framework Bill will be approved by the Cabinet. On the other hand, a decision on the setting up of Telugu Academy will be taken up in the Cabinet to make Telugu language popular in the state.
The Cabinet will decide on the appointment of doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff posts in government hospitals and decide on the setting up of three new Nursing Colleges in the state including the creation of a tribal engineering college in Kurupam in Vizianagaram district.
