Andhra Pradesh: Enforcement Directorate attaches AgriGold assets of worth Rs. 4,109 crore

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has stepped up its probe in the AgriGold issue and has attached assets of worth Rs 4109 crore in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Odisha respectively. The Enforcement Directorate has also attached the Highlands, which is about 48 acres.

Agrigold founders Avva Venkata Rama Rao, Avva Venkatasheshu Narayana Rao and Avva Hema Sundara Varaprasad were arrested by the authorities in Hyderabad on Tuesday night.

They were produced in the court on Wednesday and the court remanded the three accused in the case for a judicial custody for 14 days. They were later shifted to Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad.

About 32 lakh accounts in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and 8 other states. AgriGold has collected about Rs 6,380 crore from 19,18,865 depositors. There are 11.58 lakh depositors from Andhra Pradesh, 1.67 lakh in Telangana, 4.81 lakh in Karnataka respectively.
