Andhra Pradesh extends Lockdown till May 31, to take strict measures in red zones

The Andhra Pradesh government led by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has reportedly made a key decision to extend the lockdown till May 31 following the central government's guidelines released on Sunday. As per the reliable sources, the government has issued a notification in this regard stating that it would follow the center's guidelines. On the other hand, the government is yet to take a decision on RTC bus services.

The government is likely to begin interstate services. The government is likely to give exemptions to the green and orange zones while the it decided to maintain strict measures in red zones and containment zones.

Meanwhile, the TTD has also suspended temple darshan till May 31 following the lockdown 4.0 imposed by centre. In the guidelines stipulated by the centre, it is said that the declaration of zones relies on the state's administration.

Meanwhile, the state has recorded 52 new coronavirus cases on Monday taking the tally to 2282 with 1433 recovered cases and 705 active cases. The death toll due to the coronavirus stands 50.
