Andhra Pradesh: Former Tanuku MLA, TDP leader YT Raja dies of illness in Hyderabad

Telugu Desam party leader and former Tanuku MLA YT Raja has died after suffering illness at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday morning. Raja has recently been infected with the coronavirus and has recovered, however he fell sick despite cured from coronavirus. With this he went to Hyderabad for medical examination and was hospitalised where his health was deteriorated as treatment continued. The family members said that the doctors' efforts to revive him had failed.

Raja was the Tanuku MLA from 1999 to 2004 and also served as president of Consumers Co-operative Stores. However, he contested from the TDP in the 2004 and 2009 elections but lost by a narrow margin. However, he did not get a ticket in the 2014 elections. He has kept himself out of politics ever since. Raja's full name is Yalamarthi Thimma Raja who hails from Karanchedu in Guntur district.

TDP leaders and his fans are shocked by the death of Raja and expressed their deepest sympathies to his family. Following the news of Raja's death, a large number of TDP leaders and activists visited his residence and expressed condolence to his family members. Upon learning of the matter, several activists and district leaders left for Hyderabad.
