Andhra Pradesh: Four injured in gas cylinder explosion in Sullurupeta of Nellore

In a horrific incident, four people were seriously injured when a gas cylinder exploded in the house while everyone were asleep. The incident took place around midnight on Sunday on Kapu Street in Sullurupet town of Nellore. According to locals, Vanka Srinivasulu (49), wife Vanka Munisubbamma (40), daughter Jahnavi (10) and son Charan Sai (4) are sleeping after dinner on Sunday. A gas leak from the cylinder pipe spread throughout the house and the fire broke out at around 12.30 pm on Sunday when the alert Srinivasulu got up and turned on the light due to the smell of gas.

As the leaking gas spread to the bottom of the fridge, the fire increased and the risk of the accident increased as the fridge exploded. The leaking gas also spread into the bedroom, leaving the daughter and son of the Srinivasulu asleep in a deep fire.

Upon learning of the accident, locals immediately called 108 and could not reach on time. However, police on night patrol responded and rushed the injured to a government hospital along with locals. The victim was rushed to Nellore Sinhapuri Hospital as his condition was critical after first aid at a government hospital. Of whom Srinivasulu daughter Jahnavi seems to be in critical condition. It is learnt that the situation of Munisubbamma and Charan Sai was better. Police said no case has been registered over the accident.
