Andhra Pradesh: Govt. contemplates to bring internet connectivity to every tribal village

The Andhra Pradesh government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is taking steps towards achieving development across the state. Chief Minister Jagan is aiming to extend the government schemes to every corner of the state. Now every tribal villages in the state are also moving forward with a intention to set up internet facility.

The state government is paying special attention to provide internet services even to the tribal villages. The government is planning to make digital facility available to every tribal village through the Fiber Net Corporation as the internet is essential for the management of the newly established village and ward secretariat system.

Fiber net connectivity is already connected to 134 tribal areas in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has paid Rs 3 crore to Fiber Net Corporation to make the system available. "About 51 villages under ITDA at Rampachodavaram in East Godavari district, 49 in Parvathipuram of Vizianagaram district, 26 villages at Paderu of Visakapatnam, 6 villages under ITDA, Chinturu and KR Puram ITDA in Srisailam will soon complete fiber network in each village," officials said.

They said Reliance had already set up more than 200 towers in hilly areas with government assistance. These made wireless internet services available in nearby agency villages.
