Andhra Pradesh: Govt. extends YSR Aarogya Aasara to more 683 diseases

The government of Andhra Pradesh headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken another crucial decision regarding Aarogyasri Aasara scheme. The number of treatments given during and after treatment under the YSR-Aarogyasri scheme has been greatly increased. Anil Kumar Singhal, Chief Secretary, Department of Medical Health, has issued orders to this effect.

In the past, the government has given financial support of Rs. 225 to Rs. 5000 for those undergone treatments for up to 836 diseases. However, now another 683 treatments have been added with which the total number of treatments has reached 1,519.

For those who are recovering at home after receiving any of these treatments, the money will be deposited in the bank account immediately. It is also revealed that the money is given on the basis of rest days as suggested by the doctor.

The latest list includes gynaecology, pulmonary, diabetic foot, and dengue fever. The orders stated that the funds would be deposited immediately if the patients linked their Aadhaar to the bank.
