The huge sum of Hawala money caught at Garikapada check post in Krishna district has evoked a stir in the district. Going into details, police who inspected the vehicles found a huge amount of cash in a car and seized Rs. 80 lakh cash moving without any documents. The hawala money was found to be being transferred from Secunderabad to Kolkata.

According to the police, the Chilakallu 2 Sub Inspector Mahalakshmi inspected vehicles at Garikapada at 11 am on Sunday. However, while checking in the AP09 CS7111 Eco Sports vehicle, Rs. 50 lakh was recovered. Of this, Rs. 500 notes 32 bundles and 8 bundles of 2,000 notes.

Lashkar Mohammad, the owner of the car, said he had a Gold works shop in Secunderabad and was buying land in Kolkata and taking money for it. However, police said they could not show any evidence of the money. Gold trader Mohammed's Bhasha is being detained and prosecuted. The seized cash was handed over to the IT authorities and trying to find out the masterminds behind the racket. They revealed that further action would be taken depending on the details mentioned.
