Andhra Pradesh HC Quashes Gurazala Court's Verdict in Murder Case: 4 Acquitted

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh overturned the verdict given by the 10th District Court of Guntur District and Gujarat in 2018 on death row of four persons in a murder case. The High Court declared them as acquitted and ordered that they are released earliest possible. The two-member bench comprising interim Chief Justice (ACJ) Justice Chagari Praveen Kumar and Justice Justice Mallavolu Satya Narayana Murthy passed the verdict.

A case has been booked in 2011 on Gaderipalle Subhani, Pedajan, Moulali and Mohammed for stabbing Saeeda to death. the family members of Saeeda a native of Tangeda village in Guntur district filed a case on the four suspects. In 2012, the charge sheet was filed and Subani and three others were convicted district and sessions court of the tenth additional district and sentenced to death in 2018.

The petitioner's lawyer K Suresh Reddy argued that there are no eyewitnesses for the murder and claimed that the verdict of death sentence is not a valid one. After hearing the arguments from both parties, the court agreed with the prosecution and issued the latest verdict in the case cancelling the gurujala court's verdict.
