Andhra Pradesh High Court Issues Green Signal for construction of Polavaram project: Navayuga's stay petition dismissed
The high court of Andhra Pradesh has given the verdict on the all the petitions filed against the Polavaram project. The court which heard the petitions on Thursday has given green signal to the construction of Polavaram project. The project which has been declared as the national project post bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh continued its works.
However, the cases against the project from various people and surrounding states continued. The high court has issued the order regarding the construction of the project.
On the other hand, Navayuga, which filed a case on the termination of the Hydal power contract because of reverse tendering, has moved the high court. The court has stayed the reverse tendering in last month.
In the latest hearing, the court has vacated the stay, and the judge said according to prima facie, Navayuga's petition is not maintainable and dismissed the stay. The High court gave a nod to the government to complete the project with a new contractor. On the other hand, the Jagan Mohan reddy government had saved 850crores so far in reverse tendering.
