Andhra Pradesh High Court stays arrests of Ayyannapatrudu, Yanamala, Chinarajappa
Nelapadu (Amaravati): The High Court on Monday issued orders not to arrest TDP leader and former Minister Ayyannapatrudu until further orders.
Earlier, Ayyannapatrudu filed a petition in the High Court challenging the filing of criminal case against him and appealed to the court to issue quash orders.
The police filed a criminal case under the provisions of the SC and ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act against the former TDP Minister on the allegation that he used strong language against Commissioner of Narsipatnam municipality.
In another petition filed by former Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Nimmakayala Chinarajappa after criminal cases were filed against them by the police under the provisions of the SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act, alleging that both of them conducted a marriage to a person when his first wife was alive.
The first woman who is a Dalit woman lodged a complaint with the police that they attempted to conduct the marriage for her husband with another woman. The High Court also issued orders not to arrest Yanamala and Chinarajappa until further orders.
