Andhra Pradesh: Mid-day meal scheme is renamed as 'Jagananna Gorumudda'
The prestigious Mid-day meal scheme aims to provide quality food for the student studying in government-run schools in Andhra Pradesh has started on Tuesday with an enhanced menu. The YSRCP government headed by chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had now renamed the scheme as 'Jagananna Gorumudda'.
Here is the enhanced menu
Monday: Rice, Egg curry, Chickpea (a recipe for peanut lentil gingerbread)
Tuesday: Puliohara, Tomato dal, Boiled egg
Wednesday: Vegetable Rice, Aloo Kurma, Boiled Egg, Chickpea
Thursday: Kichidi, Tomato chutney, Boiled egg
Friday: Rice, Asparagus, Boiled egg, Chickpea
Saturday: Rice, sambar, and Sweet Pongal
On the other hand, the salary of the employees working on the Jagannanna Gorumuddha scheme has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000, which would add a burden of Rs 344 crore to the government. A four-pronged system was also established to improve the quality of the lunch. Three members of the school development committee have been entrusted with the responsibility to monitor the quality of education while the RDO level officer supervises the works of the scheme.
