Andhra Pradesh: Newly appointed CS Adityanath Das meets CM YS Jagan
IAS Adityanath Das, the newly appointed Chief Secretary to Andhra Pradesh government, met CM Jagan as a courtesy on Wednesday morning. Adityanath along with DGP Gautam Sawang reached the CM's camp office in Tadepalli and thanked Jagan. Neelam Sawhney currently the AP CS, will retire on December 31 while Adityanath will take over as the new CS on the same day.
Adityanath Das, who has been appointed as the new CS, is from Bihar state cadre. Born June 30, 1961, he is due to retire at the end of June 2021. However, if the state government appeals, the central government is likely to extend his service for another six months. As an IAS officer, Adityanath Das held several key positions in joint Andhra Pradesh and after the bifurcation of the state. He looked after Irrigation department responsibilities for a long time. Adityanath Das IAS was first appointed as Vizianagaram District Assistant Collector followed by he served as Assistant Collector in Nandyal and Vijayawada, as DRDA PD in Nellore, as Additional Commissioner in Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, as Joint Collector in Krishna District, as Deputy Director in the Central Government, as Collector of Warangal, Secretary of the Society of Social Welfare Gurukula Educational Institutions in Andhra Pradesh, and as Additional Commissioner of AP Bhavan in Delhi and served as municipal commissioner and director.
On the other hand, the government has made changes in administration and IAS officers transferred. Following the appointment of Adityanath Das as CS, the government has appointed J. Shyamala Rao as the Secretary of the Irrigation Department. He is currently serving as Secretary of the Municipal Department. IAS officer Y Sri Lakshmi was appointed as the municipal secretary while K. Sunitha as secretary of the Department of Social Welfare.
