Andhra Pradesh: Police seizes 50 kg of silver in a car in Chittoor

Police have seized silver of worth Rs 25,00,000 in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The police have launched a search operation at sand check-post near Bathalavalam village of Varadaiyapalem Mandal of Chittoor district.

While Satyavedu Circle Inspector and local Sub Inspector Purushotham Reddy were conducting checks, a car travelling from Chennai to Srikalahasti appeared suspicious. The police are quick enough to stop the car and held searches. Police who found a large quantity of silver jewellery amounting 50 Kgs in the car has been seized.

The jewellery owner of Srikalahasti Sunil has informed the police that they will show the relevant bills if they are given some time. On the other hand, there is a lot of suspicions that silver is being transported from Tamil Nadu to Andhra Pradesh without any documents.

However, with the increasing traffic congestion on the Srikalahasti road from Chennai than ever before, the police have been increasing the surveillance on this road which has become a key route.
