Andhra Pradesh reports 57 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, tally mounts to 2339

As per the latest media health bulletin, Andhra Pradesh has reported 57 new COVID-19 positive cases out of 9,739 tests conducted in the last twenty-four hours on Tuesday taking the total tally to 2339, while 69 of the patients have been cured and discharged on Monday taking it to 1596 cases. On the other hand, with two deaths in last twenty-four hours in Chittoor and Kurnool, the toll reaches 52 in the state. The number of persons taking treatment stands at 691.

The Andhra Pradesh government has not backed down on the conduction of tests as it is conducting ten thousand tests daily. According to government sources, the number of corona cases in the state is decreasing.

On the other hand, the state administration has framed guidelines to impose lockdown until May 31. The government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is contemplating to restart the APSRTC services and the decision on the same is yet to be taken. Meanwhile, the government has issued a notification over declaration of red, orange and green zones based on the number of coronavirus cases.
